I am a biologist from the Universidad Estatal Amazónica (UEA), and my research interests are focused on assessing the diversity of terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates, birdlife, and herpetofauna in Southern Ecuador, with a special interest in understanding the ecosystem benefits they provide.
Currently, I have completed my thesis work on ants in Southern Ecuador, conducted in various habitats outside of protected areas.
The goal was to determine the generic diversity of functional groups present in altered environments and to demonstrate the effects or implications of their disappearance.
From this perspective, I addressed the following objectives:
-
Determine distribution patterns.
-
Compare whether there is a correlation of ant genera with habitat type.
-
Identify the functional habits of each genus.
